TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A total of 10 airlines serving Umrah flights have relocated to Terminal 2F at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. These airlines, which cater to group Umrah flights—including Loong Air, Hainan Airlines, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Scoot, Turkish Airlines, Qatar Airways, Egypt Air, Oman Air, Emirates, and Etihad Airways—are now centralized at the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F.

General Manager of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Heru Karyadi, stated on Monday, July 13, 2026, that "the entire process of transferring Umrah group departure services to the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F has run smoothly."

He mentioned that the successful transition resulted from collaboration among regulators, airlines, ground handling, Umrah Travel Organizers (PPIU), and all stakeholders at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.

State-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia or InJourney Airports, the branch office of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, has completed the transfer of Umrah group departure services to the Special Hajj and Umrah Terminal 2F. The implementation was conducted gradually from July 1 to 10, 2026.

During the implementation period from July 1-10, 2026, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport recorded 118 flights, consisting of 59 departures and 59 arrivals, with a total of 40,642 passengers. Heru stated, "During the implementation period, Umrah flight traffic was still mainly dominated by Saudi Arabian Airlines."

Out of this total, 20,335 were Umrah pilgrims, accounting for approximately 50.03 percent of the passengers served. Heru said, 'The smoothness of operations during the transition period indicates that the service transfer can proceed well without disrupting services to the pilgrims.'

This service transfer followed the Circular Letter of the Director General of Civil Aviation Number SE DJPU 12 of 2026 and the Circular Letter of the Director General of Hajj and Umrah Organizers Number SE-153/BN/2026.

On July 10, 2026, which marked the completion of the third phase of the service transfer, Soekarno-Hatta International Airport served 39 flights, comprising 20 departures and 19 arrivals, with a total of 11,285 passengers, including 2,685 Umrah pilgrims.

Heru stated that Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is committed to improving service quality through strengthening operational coordination, providing facilities, and innovating services to create a better travel experience for all Umrah pilgrims.

The 27,418-square-meter terminal features facilities designed for the convenience of Umrah pilgrims and accompanying family members, including a waiting room with a capacity of up to 3,000 people and a mosque covering 3,136 square meters, capable of accommodating around 1,000 worshippers.

A total of 20 check-in counters have also been prepared for Umrah pilgrims, allowing for a separate check-in and baggage drop process from regular passengers, ensuring a faster departure process.
