TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A new five-star hotel is set to open in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Mandalika in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. It will be built in Tanjung Aan, also known as Lot TTA3-A, one of the region's most famous beach areas, renowned for its white sand and clear blue waters.
The land handover agreement was signed between InJourney Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) and PT Kleo Mandalika Resort on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, in Tanjung Aan. The handover was witnessed by the officials of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) of Central Lombok Regency.
Investment Value of Rp 2.1 Trillion
The hotel, to be built on a 101,185 square meter land, is designed to complement Mandalika's premium accommodation portfolio, with an investment value of around Rp2.1 trillion. The development by PT Kleo Mandalika Resort is in line with the master plan of Mandalika SEZ, which integrates accommodation areas, tourist attractions, and facilities to support global-scale events.
"The signing of this land handover agreement not only marks the beginning of the construction of an international-class hotel but also affirms that Tanjung Aan is a beautiful beach with well-maintained cleanliness," said the spokesperson.
This agreement also confirms the land's clean and clear status, ensuring a conducive investment climate in Mandalika, supported by the full backing of officials and the community to expedite the area's development.
Joint Venture of Japan, Indonesia, and Dubai
PT Kleo Mandalika Resort is a foreign direct investment (FDI) company resulting from a joint venture between companies based in Indonesia, Japan, and Dubai. The company has an international track record in property and hotel development. Their presence in The Mandalika reflects the global investors' confidence in the potential of premium tourism in The Mandalika region.
In addition to providing direct economic benefits, the land handover also confirms the legal certainty and status of the land in Mandalika, which is clear and clean. This ensures investment security. This process is reinforced by close synergy between ITDC, the local government, and the security forces, ensuring that the investment climate remains conducive.
During the event, the Vice Regent of Central Lombok, along with officials from the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum of Central Lombok Regency and heads of related agencies, were present.
Troy added that the ITDC ensures the area's development is directed, sustainable, and in line with national interests. "We are committed to overseeing every stage of development with the principles of good governance, legal and environmental compliance, and delivering real benefits to the community through job creation, empowerment of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), human resource development, and regional economic growth," said Troy.
