TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Economy Coordinating Airlangga Hartarto stated that Indonesia has successfully secured investments worth nearly Rp1,400 trillion in the last three months. "This is almost 60 percent of Indonesia's investment target for this year. So, basically 60 percent has been done by Mr. Anindya Bakrie," said Airlangga, in Jakarta, on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
The statement was made by Airlangga during his address at a seminar organized by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in cooperation with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) and the British Embassy.
Airlangga explained that Indonesia's accession process to join the OECD is not only carried out by the government but also involves business circles. Airlangga also mentioned that the government has close relations with Kadin. Therefore, Airlangga said that the Chair of Kadin, Anindya Bakrie, always accompanies President Prabowo Subianto on state visits.
The Golkar politician stated that in the last three months, Indonesia has signed memorandums worth nearly Rp1,400 trillion with Korea, Japan, and the United States.
As for the technical review process of Indonesia's accession to the OECD, it will continue in the second semester of this year. "There will be a technical review in July. Of course, because this is sector by sector, we hope that the process can continue," he said. Airlangga believes that OECD membership can strengthen Indonesia's trade and investment relations amid uncertainty.
OECD is an international organization consisting of 38 countries that serves as a multilateral platform for economic development policies. There are at least three sectors currently being reviewed by the OECD, namely the environment, trade, and digital policies.
Indonesia's relationship with the OECD began in 2007 when Indonesia became a key partner. Indonesia's status then changed to a candidate country for accession in March 2024.
