Indonesian Police Arrest 9 Suspects in Killing of Three Anti-Drug Officers

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Indonesian Police have arrested nine murder suspects in the case of three Narcotics Unit members of the Katingan Police Resort in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. The nine suspects were arrested at different times and locations.

The Director of Narcotics Criminal Action of the Indonesian National Police Headquarters, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, stated that the arrests were made by a joint team from Subdirectorate IV and the Narcotic Investigation Center (NIC) Task Force. "Gradually, the joint team succeeded in identifying the roles of each perpetrator and their hiding locations," said Eko in a written statement on Saturday, July 11, 2026.

Eko mentioned that the nine suspects, namely Sandy alias Ateng, who was the bearer of a homemade firearm and the shooter of the officers, Dea Nabila alias Dea, and Isnan Melani Pebriansyah alias Roby, who also carried homemade firearms and incited the public.

In addition, there was Nimu, who carried a spear and incited the public, M Lupie, who shot the officers and carried a machete, Bio, who was a drug dealer and participated in attacking the officers, Ramblan, a methamphetamine distributor who also shot, and Perioe, who carried a machete and participated in shooting the officers.

According to Eko, Bio's house in Tumbang Kalemei Village was a location for methamphetamine transactions and abuse. This location was initially the target of the Katingan Police Resort Narcotics Unit operation. However, Bio and his group resisted using homemade firearms, machetes, spears, and other sharp weapons, resulting in the death of three police officers.

They are the late Police First Brigadier Anumerta Yudhie Perdana Putra, Police First Brigadier Anumerta Sumariyanto, and Police Officer Anumerta Nopandri Ramadhana. The Indonesian National Police Headquarters posthumously promoted the three officers to extraordinary ranks.
