TEMPO.CO, Jakarta Manchester City failed to close the gap on Arsenal after drawing 3-3 against Everton in their Matchday 35 Premier League match at Hill Dickinson Stadium, early Tuesday morning WIB (Western Indonesian Time).

Everton came close to victory thanks to a brace from Thierno Barry and a goal from Jake O'Brien. Meanwhile, two goals from Jeremy Doku and Erling Haaland secured the Citizens a point, as reported by Antara.

This draw means City can only close the gap on the league leaders to five points. However, Pep Guardiola's men still have a game in hand to capitalize on in the title race.

Meanwhile, Everton sits firmly in mid-table in tenth place with 48 points, according to the official Premier League website.

The Citizens were dominant from the start. Several chances were created, including through Rayan Cherki in the 7th and 18th minutes, but were denied by Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

City's pressure finally paid off in the 43rd minute through Jeremy Doku's goal. His curling shot into the top left corner was beyond Pickford's reach, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, Everton were more effective. After several chances, the hosts equalized in the 68th minute through Thierno Barry, who capitalized on a Marc Guehi pass error.

Just five minutes later, Everton took a 2-1 lead through Jake O'Brien's header, which Gianluigi Donnarumma failed to keep out. The hosts even went ahead to make it 3-1 in the 81st minute through Barry's second goal.

Manchester City didn't let up. Two minutes after that goal, Erling Haaland reduced the deficit to 3-2 after receiving a through ball from Mateo Kovacic.

Just as Everton looked to be winning the game, Doku was decisive again. The Belgian winger scored his second goal in the 90+7 minute with a beautiful curling shot that sealed the 3-3 draw.
