TEMPO.CO, Jakarta As the glow of the Lyrids meteor shower lingers, the night sky continues its quiet spectacle. On Wednesday, April 22, Jupiter will rise into view beside the Moon, as the duo will appear in close alignment. This striking pairing will become visible about 45 minutes after sunset, drawing attention in the fading twilight.

Beneath a clear, open sky, a gentle celestial pairing is set to unfold. A delicate waxing crescent Moon will hover just a few degrees above the brilliant Jupiter, creating a quietly captivating scene. The moment requires no special equipment, as both will shine brightly to the naked eye.

According to Forbes and Space.com, the Moon will be about 38 percent illuminated, nearing its first quarter phase, and positioned roughly three degrees above Jupiter.

The celestial display does not end there. The duo will be joined by the Gemini twins, Pollux and Castor, glowing in contrasting hues above the scene. Positioned several degrees higher than Jupiter and the Moon, their presence adds depth and symmetry, turning the entire alignment into a striking sky parade sure to captivate stargazers worldwide.

As April draws to a close, the night sky saves one final spectacle. The Lyrids meteor shower will peak between April 22 and 23, offering a steady display for those watching under dark, open skies. At its height, around 10 to 15 meteors per hour may streak across the horizon.

For the best view, look toward the eastern sky from about 10 p.m. onward. The radiant in the Lyra will climb higher as the night deepens, bringing clearer chances to catch each fleeting trail before dawn.
