NFL fans have brutally ripped into the New York Jets after they produced the 'worst kick in history' during their season-opener on Sunday afternoon.
The incident unfolded during the second quarter of their Week 1 clash against the Tennessee Titans – which Aaron Glenn's side won 23-10 at the Nissan Stadium.
Facing fourth-and-8 while holding a 10-3 lead at the time, Jets kicker Jason Sanders completely shanked a kick to the left, missing the goal posts by a significant margin.
Replays quickly confirmed that no Tennessee defender had gotten a hand on the ball and that, rather, it was simply a disaster of a miss from the 30-year-old.
Footage of the attempt quickly spread across social media, with fans and pundits lining up to tear into the shocking miss.
One prominent account wrote: 'This was the worst kick in NFL history.'

Meanwhile, another said: 'That kick missed so badly I felt personally invited to keep the clip on loop.'
Thankfully, the embarrassing moment didn't prove costly for Glenn and his team as they went on to secure a 23-10 win over the Titans to start their season.
Sanders made amends for his horror miss as the game wore on, drilling a pair of 50-plus-yard field goals to help ice the contest for the visitors.
The victory also spoiled Titans head coach Robert Saleh's debut against his former team, with New York controlling the tempo in the season-opener.
Running back Breece Hall led the charge on offense with 102 rushing yards and a touchdown, while quarterback Geno Smith completed 19 of 24 passes for 215 yards to ensure New York opened their 2026 campaign with a resounding road victory.
Glenn's squad will now look to carry that momentum into their home opener next Sunday, when they welcome the Green Bay Packers to MetLife Stadium in Week 2.
Tennessee, meanwhile, will remain in Nashville looking to bounce back from an opening-day defeat as they host the Philadelphia Eagles at Nissan Stadium.
