TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Barcelona kicked off their 2026/27 Champions League campaign with a resounding 5-1 victory over their Dutch opponents in the opening matchday of the league phase at Camp Nou on Wednesday.
Raphinha netted two goals in the match, with the others scored by Karim Adeyemi, Lamine Yamal, and Gabriel Jesus. Sem Steijn scored a consolation goal for the visitors.
The result marked an impressive opening win for Barcelona in the Champions League league phase.
Feyenoord, managed by former Barcelona player Giovanni van Bronckhorst, returned to the Netherlands having suffered a heavy defeat, according to UEFA's official website.
Barcelona opened the scoring just three minutes into the match. Lamine Yamal received a long cross on the right flank before laying the ball off to Raphinha with his first touch.
The Brazilian forward then drove into the penalty area. Raphinha executed a feint that wrong-footed two Feyenoord defenders before unleashing a finish that Tjark Ernst was unable to stop, making it 1-0.
Barcelona doubled their lead in the 22nd minute. Adeyemi fired a powerful shot from outside the box that rocketed towards the Feyenoord goal, dipping sharply.
The 2-0 lead held until halftime.
Barcelona completely dominated the game, recording 74 percent possession, 12 shots compared to Feyenoord's three, and 400 passes to Feyenoord's 117.
Feyenoord threatened briefly when Nacho Ferri broke through the Barcelona defense in a one-on-one situation, but the attempt did not alter the scoreline.
Barcelona extended their lead in the 57th minute. Raphinha latched onto an accurate through-ball from Pedri before beating Ernst to score his second goal of the match.
Feyenoord managed to find the net through Ferri after Joan Garcia lost possession, but the goal was disallowed following a VAR check that confirmed an offside position.
Barcelona continued to press and scored again in the 78th minute. Yamal struck the free-kick with power and precision. The ball cleared the Feyenoord defensive wall before finding the back of Ernst's net.
Feyenoord finally scored a consolation goal in the 82nd minute. A low cross from Goncalo Borges bypassed the Barcelona defense, and Steijn finished the move with a goal.
However, Barcelona managed to add one more. Gabriel Jesus, having just come on as a substitute, met a cross from Yamal with a glancing header directed at the Feyenoord goal in the 85th minute.
This 5-1 victory marked the third time in their opening five matches of the season that Barcelona have scored five goals. The *Blaugrana* have now tallied 22 goals across their first five games.
