The attorney representing Shannon Sharpe’s sexual assault accuser has announced a settlement in the lawsuit. Details of the agreement have not been revealed publicly.
‘After protracted and respectful negotiations, I’m pleased to announce that we have reached a mutually agreed upon resolution,’ read a post by Texas-based attorney Tony Buzbee. ‘All matters have now been addressed satisfactorily, and the matter is closed. The lawsuit will thus be dismissed with prejudice.’
The $50 million lawsuit accused Sharpe of repeatedly raping his now-ex girlfriend, identified as Jane Doe, in 2024 and 2025 while the two were in a relationship.
Sharpe is first accused of raping Doe in October of 2024, allegedly forcing himself on her as she 'was crying and sobbing.' He allegedly raped her again in January after arriving at her home with promises of Christmas and birthday gifts, according to Doe's original complaint.
'The lawsuit lays out a pattern of intimidation, manipulation, and abuse, including allegations that Sharpe repeatedly threatened to choke and slap Jane Doe,' read an April statement from Buzbee.
Sharpe denied the accusations in a statement through his attorneys in which he identified his accuser by name.
