So just what, exactly, had Taylor Swift and Tom Cruise so fascinated in the VIP Suite of Arrowhead Stadium during her husband Travis Kelce's Monday Night Football performance?

Television viewers were understandably curious about the topic of conversation between the veteran actor and pop singer after they were pictured by ESPN during the Kansas City Chiefs' Week 1 win over the visiting Denver Broncos.

Obviously, the luxury box isn't equipped with microphones, but Nicola Hickling, an expert analyst and professional lipreader, was able to reveal to The Daily Mail what was said between the pop sensation and the Hollywood star.

'It's the structure of the entire infrastructure of the audience that's what I love in a positive way,' Swift said, according to Hickling, the founder of LipReader.

Although the first part of Cruise's response was lost as ESPN switched cameras, Hickling was able to pick up on the actor's words a moment later.

'You may not know it, but you do have a job,' he said.

Swift appeared to agree and quickly placed her drink down while nodding and saying 'right.'

'I told her to stick to one and that it's the last time,' Cruise followed.

Once again, Swift gave another nod of approval.

The identity of one unnamed woman remains a mystery, but Swift and Cruise appeared to be enjoying a rather professional conversation.

The 36-year-old songstress was later seen going wild in the box, hugging her mom, Andrea, after Kelce surpassed Jason Witten for career receiving yards among tight ends.

'Yes, oh my God,' the proud Swift is seen saying.

Later she high fived Cruise and shared a hug with the 64-year-old actor/producer.

The Opalite singer was also accompanied by a full entourage of friends and family. Her dad, Scott, sat on her other side, dressed in a bright red Chiefs sweater, despite his Philadelphia Eagles fandom.

Kelce's mom, Donna, was also captured in the suite, which was brimming with members of the NFL star's inner circle.

While Cruise appears to have no ties to the Chiefs or any particular NFL team as a fan, he does have a few cinematic connections to football.

Not only did he play the title role in Jerry Maguire as a lovestruck agent based on the legendary Leigh Steinberg, but a much younger Cruise starred in All the Right Moves in 1983 as a high school football star in a dying Pennsylvania steel town.

Meanwhile, Swift's attendance at the Chiefs season opener had been cast in doubt with the 2026 Emmys also taking place on Monday evening.

The hitmaker was nominated for a slew of Emmys this year. Her 2025 concert movie, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour - The Final Show, was nominated for five awards, including Best Variety Special (Prerecorded) and Best Directing for a Variety Special.

However, Swift snubbed the glitzy A-list ceremony after her concert movie failed to win in any of the categories at the Creative Arts Emmys, which were held earlier this month.

Instead, the pop star chose to cheer on her new husband as he started his 14th - and potentially final - season in the NFL.
