TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Indonesian National Military Police Center (Puspom TNI) has expressed its support for law enforcement against perpetrators of abuse of subsidized LPG and subsidized fuel (BBM), which is being handled by the Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri). Major General Yusri Nuryanto, the Commander of Puspom TNI, stated that they will also take action against military personnel involved in these cases.

"The TNI supports law enforcement. We have collaborated with Bareskrim, especially the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Dittipidter), to help resolve the existing problems, especially the abuse of subsidized fuel (BBM) and LPG," Yusri said in Klaten on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

"If there are individuals involved, we will not tolerate it and are ready to assist in law enforcement," he said.

The Director of Specific Crimes for the Bareskrim, Brigadier General Mohammad Irhamni, stated that they will take firm action if any members of the National Police are involved. According to Irhamni, there is no room for violations by police officers involved in the practice of energy subsidy abuse.

"Any form of involvement, whether as perpetrators or as those who provide protection or backing, will be dealt with firmly, with no tolerance," Irhamni said.

Bareskrim has recently exposed a case of subsidized fuel (BBM) and LPG abuse in Klaten. The police have named two suspects: KA as the gas injector and ARP as the pickup truck driver transporting the gas.

From the crime scene, investigators seized several pieces of evidence, including 1,465 gas cylinders of various sizes, consisting of 435 empty 3 kg cylinders, 514 filled 3 kg cylinders, 262 empty 12 kg cylinders, 196 filled 12 kg cylinders, and 58 filled 50 kg cylinders. In addition, the police confiscated six pickup vehicles of various brands, three trolleys, two sitting scales, 25 regulator hoses for 50 kg cylinders, 59 regulator hoses for 12 kg cylinders, and 250 yellow seals for the cylinders.

Currently, the investigators are still developing the case to pursue other fugitive suspects and complete the case files. "The investigation will continue to be developed to uncover a wider network," Irhamni said.

Since the beginning of the year until May 1, 2026, the Bareskrim has investigated 403 cases of subsidized fuel (BBM) and LPG abuse and named 517 suspects. The law enforcement against the abuse of subsidies is being further intensified.
