Pittsburgh Steelers star DK Metcalf has bizarrely claimed he thinks Antarctica is 'another world' and that there is 'another civilization inside of Earth.'
The wide receiver, who will be a key weapon for Aaron Rodgers this season, aired the bizarre conspiracy theories during an interview with The Athletic.
He even appeared to joke that he'd be sharing his theories with Rodgers, adding: 'I'm a big conspiracy theorist. Shout out to my quarterback.'
Brent Christner, an associate professor of microbiology at the University of Florida, was cited by The Athletic.
He revealed that while there are microbes in the water that sits underneath miles of ice in Antarctica, there are so few of them that even tiny creatures could not survive down there.
Christner also explained how Antarctica is so much colder than the Arctic and any food or supplies must be brought in externally because of the extreme climate.

Adding further fuel to his theory, Metcalf asked: 'You can go to Alaska. You could go to the North Pole. But why not Antarctica? Why can't you just book a trip to Antarctica?'
However, tourism in Antarctica is a thing and often takes place between November and March with guests most often arriving by ship. While there are no commercial airports in Antarctica, airports that do exist are controlled by governments.
Turns out that is on Metcalf's radar, too. 'Why is there a secret meeting - well, it's not secret but why is there a meeting between every world leader of every country in Antarctica, specifically?'
There is no evidence to suggest secret meetings between top officials from any country have taken place in Antarctica.
No doubt Rodgers and Metcalf will be sharing more theories with each other over the course of the new NFL season, which starts on Sunday for the Steelers against the Atlanta Falcons.
It will be Rodgers's last-ever season in the NFL and the first for the Steelers without Mike Tomlin as the head coach since 2007. He walked away at the end of last season and was replaced by Mike McCarthy.
Metcalf was selected in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. He played there for six seasons before he was traded to Pittsburgh.
In his debut season with the Steelers, Metcalf played 15 games in the regular season and caught 59 passes for 850 yards and six touchdowns.

Last season, Metcalf avoided charges stemming from an incident with a Detroit Lions fan during a game in December.
The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office chose not to pursue a criminal complaint against Metcalf following an investigation into the incident between him and Ryan Kennedy.
CBS cameras caught Metcalf and Kennedy, a Lions fan wearing a blue wig and a blue and black shirt that aligned with Detroit's colors, having an exchange along the rail in the second quarter of Pittsburgh's 29-24 victory on December 21.
Kennedy leaned over the railing during the exchange, and the blue wig fell forward to cover his face. The interaction ended with Metcalf reaching toward Kennedy's head with his right arm, though he didn't appear to make much, if any, contact.
The NFL suspended Metcalf for the final two games of the regular season, though he did return for Pittsburgh's first-round playoff loss to Houston.
