Bronny James took a break from his NBA Summer League preparations this week to gush over his girlfriend Parker Whitfield on Instagram.

James, the son of Lakers star LeBron, has been suiting up for the Lakers in the California Classic Summer League, with the official NBA Summer League set to begin on Thursday.

But James made sure to compliment Whitfield after she posted a series of photos recapping her summer activities.

'My girlfriend,' he commented, before Whitfield left a similarly cheery reply.

'hi babe!!,' she replied.

The carousel post include several glimpses into her summer thus far, including pictures of her lounging by the pool and a bouquet of roses on a table in another picture.

She previously posted a Valentine's Day story with Bronny back in February

Bronny and Parker have been linked since at least last summer, when they were seen watching the Paris Olympics together.

She later posted an Instagram story with the Lakers player for Valentine's Day.

The 20-year-old, who played only sparingly for LA in his rookie season, had an encouraging performance last week as he scored 10 points in 11 minutes against the Heat in the California Classic Summer League.

Bronny will be hoping to take strides in his second season after playing just 27 times in debut season, and averaging just 2.3 points in 6.7 minutes per game.

The second-round pick split his time between the Lakers and their G League affiliate, where he fared much better.

He averaged 21.9 points, 5.5 assists and 5.1 rebounds in his 11 G League contests, and recorded a career-high 17 points against the Bucks in a March NBA game.

His dad LeBron recently opted into his $52.6million player option for the upcoming season,  though the news came as his agent Rich Paul cryptically told ESPN that his client 'values a realistic chance of winning it all.'

That raised questions about the elder James' future in LA, though Bronny remained tight-lipped when asked about the situation.

'I don´t really pay attention to that stuff. There´s a lot of stuff going around that I don´t pay attention to,' he said.

'We don´t really talk about that much, but I think when stuff like that does come up, he just tells me to not worry about it, not even pay attention to it.

'Just lock in to what you have going on right now, and that's what's going to get me better and keep me focused. I think it's good that he tells me not to pay attention to that stuff.'
