TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Minister of Investment and Industry, who also serves as the CEO of Danantara, Rosan Roeslani, announced that Indonesia has secured four new commercial agreements totaling US$3.5 billion, or approximately Rp62.38 trillion (at an exchange rate of Rp17,824 per US dollar), during President Prabowo Subianto's state visit to France.
Rosan noted that the four agreements were finalized alongside the launch of the France-Indonesia High-Level Business Council in Paris on Thursday, May 28, 2026. The inauguration took place in the presence of Prabowo and French President Emmanuel Macron.
Rosan stated that the signed partnerships center on energy resilience, trade, and defense. "The agreements reached demonstrate that Indonesia is regarded as a strategic partner with long-term growth prospects and an increasingly competitive investment climate," Rosan said, as quoted in a statement released by the Presidential Secretariat's Press, Media, and Information Bureau on Friday, May 29, 2026.
Rosan explained that the France-Indonesia High-Level Business Council is a business forum uniting 30 industry leaders and top-tier corporations from both nations.
According to him, the participating entities represent a combined market capitalization of US$1.3 trillion. The business council is co-led by the Chair of the France-Indonesia Business Council MEDEF International and CEO of Danone, Antoine de Saint-Affrique, alongside the Chairperson of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Bakrie.
Rosan stated that this business council will oversee the implementation of various memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and investment commitments previously agreed upon. Among these are the outcomes of President Macron's state visit to Indonesia in May 2025, which yielded 27 MoUs valued at over US$11 billion.
"This forum will serve as a means to identify bottlenecks, accelerate the resolution of various hurdles, and ensure that investments perform optimally," he said.
Rosan conveyed that the Indonesia-France Business Council aims to triple the total trade volume between the two nations by 2035. He expressed confidence that the economic ties between Indonesia and France will strengthen further in the coming years.
"Collaboration between government and business is key to generating sustainable growth, opening up job opportunities, and reinforcing the competitiveness of both nations amidst global economic dynamics," Rosan said.
