TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia will have 18 national holidays and eight days of collective leave in 2027, the government announced Tuesday, September 15.
Coordinated by the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs (Kemenko PMK), the schedule was agreed upon by the government and takes into account religious observances, weekends, and the annual Eid al-Fitr homecoming period.
“So, we have agreed that there will be 18 national holidays in 2027, most of which are religious holidays. Meanwhile, there will be eight days of collective leave in 2027,” Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Pratikno said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Pratikno said the schedule considered fixed national holidays as well as collective leave days intended to facilitate traditional and religious observances.
“It also takes into account the days that fall on Saturdays and Sundays, the Eid al-Fitr homecoming period, and other considerations,” he said.
The collective leave applies to civil servants, while private-sector employees may take the days off at their employers’ discretion.
“So, it can be implemented or not,” Pratikno said.
The following is the 2027 schedule of national holidays and collective leave, based on a joint decree issued by the ministers of Religious Affairs, Manpower, and Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform:
