Pertamina Denies Reports of Pertalite Fuel Ban for Certain Vehicle Brands

9 hours ago 18

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta Indonesian state-owned oil company PT Pertamina Patra Niaga denied information circulating on social media about a list of vehicle brands said to be prohibited from using Pertalite fuel starting June 1, 2026.

"The information regarding the list of certain vehicle brands that are said to be prohibited from purchasing Pertalite starting June 1, 2026, is confirmed to be incorrect because, to date, there are no plans or directives from the government and regulators," said Pertamina Patra Niaga Corporate Secretary Roberth MV Dumatubun in an official statement in Jakarta on Saturday, as quoted by ANTARA.

He emphasized that, contrary to posts circulating on social media, there has been no government plan or directive to restrict Pertalite fuel based on vehicle brand or engine capacity.

"We urge the public not to easily believe or spread unverified information," said Roberth.

Roberth said Pertamina Patra Niaga is carrying out its energy distribution mandate and will follow official government policies.

"We emphasize once again that, to date, there are no government regulations or directives regarding restrictions on Pertalite based on specific vehicle brands or engine capacity," he said.

Pertalite distribution and services are currently operating normally. The Accurate Subsidy program is part of an effort to promote more targeted energy distribution governance. It cannot be equated with the widespread information about certain vehicles being prohibited from purchasing fuel.

Pertamina Patra Niaga urges the public to always verify information through official government channels, regulators, and Pertamina before re-sharing information in the digital space to avoid being easily influenced by information whose truth cannot be confirmed.

For further information regarding Pertamina Patra Niaga products and services, the public can contact the Pertamina Contact Center 135.
