TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto is set to perform the Eid al-Adha prayer this year, which falls on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, in France.
The Indonesian president is visiting France for the third time in the last five months.
This was confirmed by Deputy Minister of State Secretariat Juri Ardiantoro when asked about Prabowo's Eid al-Adha agenda and prayer location. "The President, last night, departed for a working visit abroad, to France, so of course, the agenda will be adjusted since he will remain there on Wednesday," he said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, on Tuesday, May 26.
Therefore, Juri said, the location of Prabowo's Eid al-Adha prayer location will be adjusted accordingly. "Let's just wait and see," he said.
Juri was reluctant to disclose more details about Prabowo's agenda during his visit to France, directing queries to Foreign Minister Sugiono.
1,098 Sacrificial Cows from Prabowo
This year's Eid al-Adha, Prabowo has allocated 1,098 sacrificial cows for the Indonesian people across the country. The distribution will be divided into two schemes, according to Juri.
First, a total of 598 sacrificial cows will be handed over to each provincial government or district/city. "So there are 552 regions, namely 38 provinces and 514 districts/cities, which will receive 598 cows," said Juri.
Juri revealed that each region will receive at least one cow, except for 46 districts/cities that will receive two cows, since these regions lack cows that meet the presidential sacrificial animal weight standard of 800 kilograms to 1.3 tons.
In addition to the distribution to local governments, President Prabowo also handed over 500 sacrificial cows to educational institutions such as Islamic boarding schools, community figures, and religious figures.
