Travis Kelce hits back at dramatic weight loss reports... after insider claimed Chiefs star has lost 25 pounds

Travis Kelce quickly jabbed back during a press conference, denying the dramatic weight loss reports about him this offseason, after a Kansas City Chiefs insider claimed he has shed 25 pounds since February.

Kelce's current physique has been on full display during the Chiefs minicamp this week, with the tight end visibly looking thinner than he was during the Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles

Last week, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said Kelce 'told people close to him he has lost about 25 pounds this offseason.'

The report of him dropping more than two-dozen pounds was a step too far for the 35-year-old however, making sure to state they were claptrap publicly.

'First of all, I never said that. Don't believe all you read on the internet guys, alright,' Kelce said Wednesday. 'I'm down some weight, yeah, from the end of the season last year.'

Each year is different man. You got to rebuild it. This year, got some time to really focus on some form running and some things early on in the offseason that I just didn't have time for last year. Certainly, feeling good and I think it will pay off.'

The 35-year-old's offseason has appeared more low-key than last year, at the boom of his mainstream profile skyrocketing by being the boyfriend of Taylor Swift.

Kelce stayed relatively under wraps for the last four months, appearing in New York City for his 'New Heights' podcast and at the Amazon Port Panel in Cannes, France.

That's in comparison to hosting Prime Video's 'Are You Smarter Than A Celebrity?', hosting a road 'New Heights' event in Cincinnati, traveling the world as part of Swift's 'Eras Tour', and more during the down months of 2024.

Many believed going into last season that Kelce was not at his best due to his skyrocketing profile outside of football. His stats showed a dip, as he only had three touchdown catches during the 2024 regular season.

More than two weeks passed after Kansas City's three-peat-denying blow out against Philadelphia before Kelce publicly declared he was coming back to the NFL this fall.

After not meeting his lofty expectations in 2024, Kelce has brainstormed how to put his best foot forward and not make the same mistakes this year.

'Football is always going to be No 1. I love this game, it's still my childhood dream. When I really thought about it, I think this offseason, I got back to wanting to focus more on this game and getting the most out of this game as I possibly can while I'm still putting on the cleats and still putting on the pads,' Kelce continued.

'This will always be No 1 in terms of my business world and my career path and with that being said, everything else is just kind of making sure that I'm accountable for the people that I agree to team up with, like the podcast and going over to France.'

'My friends, and family, and the team, and the guys and women in this building, I love coming into work every single day. It wasn't a very tough one for me. I know I'm getting older but at the same time, I feel like I got a lot that I can prove in this league and with that being said man, it really wasn't that hard of a decision for me.'

Chiefs fans got a preview to Kelce's current shape when he appeared in a luxury suite with Swift for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals last Thursday, with the game taking place close to his home in south Florida.

Kelce's close friend Pat McAfee detailed last week how the tight end's relationship can put him in the right mindset to get back to his old, dominant ways.

'I think they continue to inspire each other, I think they continue to motivate each other,' McAfee said of Swift and Kelce. 'I think they continue to motivate each other. I think they continue to be great for each other.'

'And if Travis Kelce is all the way back, I think you immediately understand that the Chiefs are going to be where the Chiefs have been, and that's in title conversations.'
