TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Around 200 police personnel have been deployed to guard the Attorney General's Office (AGO) to anticipate a demonstration related to the corruption case involving crude oil and refinery product management at PT Pertamina, its Subholding, and the Contractor Cooperation Contract Work (KKKS) for the period of 2018-2023.
"These are joint personnel from Mobile Brigade (Brimob), the Regional Police, and the Women's Police," said the Head of the Public Order Unit of Kebayoran Baru Police, Adjunct Commissioner Imam Supriyadi, when met in front of the AGO on Friday, February 28, 2025.
Based on Tempo's observation, the joint police personnel had just finished their assembly in the courtyard of the Attorney General's Office on Friday morning around 09:00 AM Western Indonesia Time (WIB).
Security officers at the Attorney General's Office reported receiving information that there would be around 300 demonstrators. The demonstration was scheduled to begin at 9:00 AM WIB, but as of 11:00 AM, only a small number of demonstrators had gathered in front of the AGO building.
The Attorney General's Office is currently under scrutiny for its handling of the alleged corruption case of crude oil and refinery product management at PT Pertamina, Subholding, and the Contractor Cooperation Contract Work (KKKS) for the period of 2018-2023.
To date, nine individuals have been named suspects.
They are Chief Executive Officer of Pertamina Patra Niaga, Riva Siahaan; Optimization of Feedstock & Product Director of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI), Sani Dinar Saifuddin; Director of PT Pertamina International Shipping, Yoki Firnandi; Vice President (VP) Feedstock Management of PT KPI, Agus Purwono; Director of Central Marketing and Trading of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, Maya Kusmaya; VP of Trading Operation Pertamina Patra Niaga, Edward Corne; and Owner of PT Navigator Khatulistiwa, Muhammad Kerry Adrianto Riza.
Also named are Commissioner of PT Navigator Khatulistiwa and Commissioner of PT Jenggala Maritim, Dimas Werhaspati; and Commissioner of PT Jenggala Maritim and PT Orbit Terminal Merak, Gading Ramadan Joede.
The Pertamina corruption case is suspected to have caused state losses of Rp193.7 trillion.
The investigation into this case started after the AGO discovered collusion between Pertamina and the Contractor Cooperation Contract Work (KKKS) to avoid crude oil bid offers.
