
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto departed for Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, in the early hours of Wednesday, April 9, 2025. This departure is part of a series of state visits to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
The head of state took off from Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base, East Jakarta, at 00:54 AM local time (WIB). Prabowo's departure was facilitated by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming, Vice Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Foreign Minister Sugiono, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Angga Raka, Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Chief of the Indonesian National Defense Forces General Agus Subiyanto.
"I will be departing shortly with a limited delegation, and some ministers have already departed and will meet me at several locations," Prabowo said before takeoff.
First, Prabowo will visit Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. He will meet with President Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to discuss the current developments in world geopolitics and geoeconomics.
"From there, I will fly directly to Ankara to carry out a state visit, in return for the visit of the President of the Republic of Turkiye to Indonesia some time ago," he said.
In Turkiye, Prabowo will attend a diplomatic forum in the city of Antalya. In addition to geopolitics, Prabowo will also discuss industrial cooperation, trade, education, and culture with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
"We have a fairly broad and comprehensive relationship with Turkiye," he said.
On April 12, Prabowo's state visit will continue to Cairo, Egypt. There, he will meet with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. Then, Prabowo will continue his journey to Doha, Qatar. In Qatar, Prabowo will finalize agreements between Qatar and Indonesia, including the signing of various strategic agreements and deals.
"From there, I will go to Jordan for a state visit and once again consult with King Abdullah II," he said.
Prabowo stated that he will discuss the conflict in Gaza, Palestine, with the leader of Jordan. Prabowo's state visit will take place from April 9 to April 15, 2025.
