CANTIKA.COM, Jakarta - Kelingking Beach in Nusa Penida Island, Bali, secured a place on TripAdvisor's list of the best beaches in the world. The travel guide platform revealed its Travellers' Choice Awards: Best of the Best Beaches for 2025.
The list is the result of a comprehensive analysis of beach reviews worldwide over the past year, highlighting beaches that have received the highest ratings and most compelling experiences from global travelers.
TripAdvisor President Kristen Dalton said that these awards reflect the voices of millions of global travelers and also help travelers plan their best trips. "In my family, beaches aren’t just for sunbathing - we like to get out and explore!" she said, as reported by Express UK.
According to Kristen, the beaches on the list showcase everything that a beach trip can have to offer. "Whether it's strolling the beautiful pink sand beaches of our world winner, Elafonissi beach, in Greece, experiencing breathtaking vistas in Indonesia, whale watching in Hawaii, or diving in magical bioluminescent waters in Thailand - there really is something for everyone," she said.
List of the 10 Best Beaches in the World
This year's list includes more than 100 beaches from six continents and 50 countries. Elafonissi Beach in Crete, Greece topped the list for its clear water and red sand. The beach's stunning seaside beauty is surrounded by a cedar tree forest, making it a great place for hiking.
Meanwhile, the distinctive pink hue of Elafonissi's sand is attributed to the bright red pigments of microorganisms crushed in the sea mixed with white sand grains. The pink sand is most visible along the water's edge, with its intensity varying depending on factors, such as weather and tides.
For those seeking a less crowded experience, the best time to visit is during the low season in May and September which offer warm and sunny weather, compared to the peak summer months of June, July, and August.
The second spot is Banana Beach in Phuket, Thailand, renowned for its stunning scenery, clear water, and peaceful atmosphere. In addition, travelers can try snorkeling and boating. The best time to visit this paradise is between November and March when Phuket enjoys clear skies, dry weather, and calm seas.

In the top position is Balos Lagoon, considered one of the most photographed spots on the island of Crete, with its hypnotic blue-green waters and panoramic views. Reviewers describe Balos Lagoon as a paradise for beach lovers with stunning views and crystal-clear water.
