BMKG Forecasts Rain Across Greater Jakarta During Eve of Eid

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) warns of potential rain with thunderstorms and strong winds in parts of Greater Jakarta (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi) on the eve of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri, Friday, March 20, 2026.

Rain is likely to fall in some parts of the metropolitan area during midday to afternoon.

Citing the latest weather forecast from BMKG, the weather across Greater Jakarta remains cloudy to heavily overcast in the early hours of Friday. Light to moderate rain potential emerges in Bekasi and parts of the Seribu Islands.

From 07:00 a.m. local time to 01:00 p.m., drizzles are expected to expand in some parts of Greater Jakarta. From midday to 07:00 p.m., light rain is predicted to drizzle over Jakarta, all of Tangerang, South Tangerang City, Depok City, and all of Bogor.

The weather agency forecasts moderate-to-heavy rain potential in parts of Bekasi regency and city.

With rainfall potential later in the afternoon, BMKG noted that the air humidity in Jakarta and its four satellite cities is around 62-92 percent. The highest air temperature in Greater Jakarta today could reach 34 degrees Celsius. Only the temperature in Bogor could drop to 20 degrees Celsius, with the highest reaching 32 degrees Celsius.
