
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has warned the residents of Jakarta and its surrounding areas regarding the potential for rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds in parts of South Jakarta and East Jakarta this Thursday evening, June 4, 2026. The same prediction applies to the city and regency of Tangerang, South Tangerang, Depok, all of Bekasi, and the majority of Bogor.
According to BMKG's latest weather forecast, the weather across Greater Jakarta is expected to be partly cloudy, with some areas experiencing thick clouds on Thursday morning. Light to moderate rain has been recorded in parts of the Thousand Islands and the city and regency of Bogor.
The areas with the potential for light to moderate rain are expected to expand towards the evening, approaching 7:00 PM local time. Rain is likely to fall in South Jakarta, East Jakarta, the city and regency of Tangerang, South Tangerang, Depok, as well as persist in Bekasi and Bogor.
The rain is predicted to subside in some areas on Thursday night, as the day transitions. However, there remains a risk of light rain in Tangerang and South Tangerang.
BMKG recorded the average air temperature in Greater Jakarta between 24 and 32 degrees Celsius, while in Bogor, it ranged from 20 to 28 degrees Celsius due to almost continuous rain. The air humidity level ranges from 62 to 96 percent.
