TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts a rainy day in Greater Jakarta today, February 7, 2025, with varying intensity, from a drizzle to heavy rainfall with thunders.
Referring to the weather forecast released by BMKG through its official website and Instagram account, the Central Jakarta and Seribu Islands areas are heavily overcast throughout the day, with a drizzle expected to start later at night at 10:00 p.m. local time.
Meanwhile, rain showers are forecasted in South Jakarta, East Jakarta, and North Jakarta in the afternoon, starting at 4:00 p.m. local time.
The wind speed in the Jakarta area throughout today will not exceed 17 kilometers per hour, while in the Seribu Islands it can reach a maximum of 28 kilometers per hour. BMKG predicts that the temperature in Jakarta today will range from 23 to 30 degrees Celsius.
The BMKG team also predicts that the City and Regency of Bogor, Depok City, as well as the City and Regency of Bekasi, will be predominantly overcast until this afternoon. Light rain is likely to fall from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. local time. The wind speed in the Bogor, Depok, and Bekasi areas varies between 7 and 19 kilometers per hour.
The duration of the rain in Bogor Regency is likely to be longer, estimated to last until 10:00 p.m. local time. The temperature in this area is recorded to range from 18 to 32 degrees Celsius, with an average wind speed of 12 kilometers per hour.
The BMKG weather forecast also shows that the City and Regency of Tangerang, as well as South Tangerang, will be moistened by a drizzle from noon to afternoon. The air temperature will not exceed 31 degrees Celsius, with air humidity at 65-96 percent.
BMKG previously warned of extreme rainfall over the next week, influenced by the tropical cyclone Taliah, Cyclone Seed 92W, the Asian Monsoon, wind shear, and atmospheric phenomena such as the Rossby and Kelvin Equatorial Waves.
