TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Chinese automotive manufacturer, Build Your Dream (BYD) seems to be preparing to launch the Sealion 7 electric car in Indonesia in the near future.
This is known through information listed on the official website of the Ministry of Law of the Republic of Indonesia, Directorate General of Intellectual Property through industrial design news. The information listed states that the applicant for the BYD Sealion 7 electric car is BYD Company Limited and is registered with the application number DI A00202407729.
In addition, the Chinese brand also displays an image of this SUV through several angles, such as perspective, top view, front view, rear view and side view.
The certainty of when the BYD Sealion 7 electric car will be present in Indonesia is not yet known for sure. There is also no official information provided regarding its specifications.
However, what is certain is that this model was first launched in Malaysia in November 2024. Reflecting on the model in the neighboring country, this electric SUV will offer a more spacious cabin space because it adopts a length of 4,830 mm, a width of 1,925 mm, a height of 1,620 mm with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm.
Meanwhile, the BYD Sealion 7 electric car comes with two variants, namely Premium and Performance. Both are equipped with different specifications in terms of battery capacity and cruising ability.
The Premium variant is equipped with a dual electric motor capable of producing 308 hp with a peak torque of 380 Nm whose power is channeled to the rear wheels. From the claims given, this model is capable of accelerating from a standstill to 100 km / h in just 6.7 seconds.
While in its highest variant, namely Performance, this electric SUV is armed with two driving motors where one electric motor is placed on both front tires and the other on the rear wheels. Regarding the power produced, it can reach 523 hp with a maximum torque of 690 Nm.
