TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The first week of the 2026/2027 Premier League season is set to kick off Friday night, with the first face-off by Arsenal and Coventry City.
As reported on the official Premier League website on Friday, defending champions Arsenal will host newly promoted Coventry City at the Emirates Stadium in London on Saturday, August 22, at 2:00 a.m. Jakarta time (or Friday, 8:00 p.m. UK time).
This match is crucial for Arsenal to start their Premier League campaign this season, and Declan Rice and his teammates are aiming for victory.
The Gunners will certainly want to secure a win to confirm Arsenal's strong ambition to retain the Premier League title this season.
On the other hand, Coventry City enter the Premier League having finished top of the Championship last season under manager Frank Lampard.
Despite being a newly promoted team, Coventry City is ready to spring a surprise when they visit Arsenal's headquarters.
