TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Secretary General of Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani claimed that the relationship between President Prabowo Subianto and the Chairperson of PDIP Megawati Soekarnoputri is just good after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) detained PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto.
According to Muzani, the detention does not affect their relationship.
"As far as I know, it's good. The relationship between Prabowo and Megawati is good," said Ahmad Muzani at the Presidential Palace, Central Jakarta, on Monday, February 24, 2025.
After Hasto's detention, Megawati asked several regional heads from PDIP to postpone attending a retreat at the Military Academy in Magelang on Friday, February 21, 2025.
Muzani stated that the postponement also does not affect the relationship between Prabowo and Megawati.
The cadres' delayed departure for the retreat was instructed by Megawati through Letter No. 7294/IN/DPP/II/2025 dated Thursday, February 20. It was issued after the detention of PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto by the Corruption Eradication Commission.
Hasto was detained after being probed as a suspect in a bribery case during the process of replacing a Member of the House of Representatives (DPR) of Indonesia for the 2019-2024 period.
A total of 55 PDIP cadres were known to have been on standby in Magelang to attend the retreat of regional heads at the Military Academy or Akmil Magelang, Central Java, which takes place from February 21 to 28, 2025.
They are awaiting command from the PDIP leader, who had previously instructed elected regional heads from PDIP to withdraw from the retreat.
Several PDIP cadres have affirmed their compliance with PDIP Chair Megawati's instruction. The Mayor of Semarang, Agustina Wilujeng Pramestuti, did not attend the retreat of regional heads at the Military Academy in Magelang.
"We, as members of the PDI Perjuangan, will not participate in the Magelang retreat," she said in a brief message.
