Indonesian Police Nab South Tangerang Narcotics Chief in Drug Case

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A joint team from Sub-Directorate IV and the Narcotics Investigation Center (NIC) Task Force of the Narcotics Crimes Directorate of the Indonesian National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) arrested the Head of the Narcotics Investigation Unit of the South Tangerang Police, Adjunct Commissioner Pardiman.

The Director of Narcotics Crimes at Bareskrim Polri, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, confirmed the arrest.

"Yes, the joint team from Sub-Directorate IV and the NIC Task Force of the Bareskrim Polri's Narcotics Crimes Directorate, led by Senior Commissioner Handik Zusen and Senior Commissioner Kevin Leleury, has arrested the Head of the South Tangerang Police Narcotics Unit," Eko said in a written statement on Monday, July 27, 2026.

In addition to Pardiman, the joint team also arrested six members of the South Tangerang Police Narcotics Investigation Unit. The team also arrested a member of the Aceh Regional Police.

Eko stated that the arrests were related to alleged drug trafficking, drug abuse, and abuse of authority in enforcing narcotics laws. "Related to cases of drug trafficking, drug abuse, and abuse of authority in enforcing narcotics laws," Eko said.

To date, the Narcotics Crime Directorate of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency has not detailed the alleged involvement of Pardiman or the seven other police officers in the case.
