TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Former President Joko Widodo or Jokowi said that President Prabowo Subianto is so powerful that no one dares to criticize him. Jokowi made this remark during his speech at the 17th anniversary of Gerindra in Sentul, Bogor, West Java.
"Look at all the current presidents in the world, there is no one as strong as Bapak Prabowo. He is so strong that until now, I haven't seen anyone dare to criticize him," Jokowi said.
Jokowi explained that Prabowo's strength is evident in his 100-day approval rating. Recalling his own experience, he mentioned that when he first became president in 2014, his acceptance rate was only 62 percent. It even fell to 52 percent after fuel prices increased.
"Now I compare it to Pak Prabowo's approval rating in the first 100 days of office, the survey shows 80.9 percent," Jokowi said.
Jokowi further claimed that Prabowo's support from the parliament is above 80 percent. He suggested that this shows Prabowo has the strongest support from both the public and the parliament.
"Because of President Prabowo Subianto's strength, every little thing is Jokowi's fault," Jokowi said.
Jokowi attended the 17th anniversary of Gerindra at Sentul City International Convention Center or SICC, on Saturday, February 15, 2025. During the event, Jokowi sat beside Prabowo. Other former presidents and vice presidents, including Tri Sutrisno and Jusuf Kalla, were also present.
