TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Kaesang Pangarep, Chairperson of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI), attended the launch of the Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Monday, February 24, 2025.
However, he denied being involved in the organization's structure. When reporters inquired after the event, Kaesang, the youngest son of Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo, quickly walked to his car and provided a brief response.
"No, no," he said when asked about his involvement in Danantara's structure.
Dressed in a black suit, Kaesang also declined to confirm rumors that his father, Joko Widodo, might be one of Danantara's advisors.
Earlier, Presidential Communications Office Head Hasan Nasbi stated that Danantara is led by Group CEO Rosan Roeslani, with Pandu Sjahrir and Dony Oskaria as his assistants.
"Danantara will be led by Mr. Rosan Roeslani, later assisted by Mr. Pandu Sjahrir, and also assisted by Mr. Dony Oskaria," said Hasan Nasbi.
Hasan explained that Danantara will hold two holdings, operational to be led by Dony Oskaria as Chief Operating Officer, and investment field to be led by Pandu Sjahrir as Chief Investment Officer.
Hasan detailed that President Prabowo also appointed Minister of State-Owned Enterprises Erick Thohir as Chairperson of the Danantara Board of Supervisors, assisted by Vice Chair of the Board of Supervisors Muliaman Hadad.
Former Presidents of Indonesia will also serve as advisors to Danantara, in accordance with the Santiago Principles, which serve as a framework for effective sovereign wealth fund (SWF) governance.
"Former Presidents will be invited to be advisors, so that this institution is truly guarded and managed by figures with integrity and genuine love for Indonesia," said Hasan.
