The New York Knicks are taking a mulligan on their 2026-27 ticket sales.
On Wednesday, the reigning NBA champions listed individual game tickets at conspicuously high prices as many fans were stunned to see a $1,000-minimum get-in price for the season opener against LeBron James and the Philadelphia 76ers. In some cases, the hikes represented a 400-percent increase over last year's prices.
On Thursday, though, the Knicks hurried to address what team spokespeople described as a pricing 'mistake.'
'We are pausing Knicks individual ticket sales due to a mistake in our pricing,' read the team statement. 'We are rolling back to last year's prices plus an average increase of 12 percent.
'We will restart sales with new prices shortly, and anyone who already purchased individual tickets will be refunded the difference. Our intention was never to overcharge our loyal fans, and we thank everyone for their support of the Knicks and their patience as we get this right.'
Many fans were left furious about the initial price hikes on what have traditionally been one of the more expensive tickets in the NBA.

On the resale market, where third-party sellers can send prices soaring, Finals tickets at Madison Square Garden cost a minimum of $3,940 in some cases, with an average price of around $7,683. Meanwhile, courtside seats were going for as much as $65,000, according to some reports.
The Knicks-Sixers October 20 opener is already a highly anticipated matchup given LeBron James and Jaylen Brown's respective arrivals in Philadelphia this season.
Currently the Knicks and 76ers are both among the betting favorites to win an NBA crown in 2026-27, although New York try to do so without key reserve Mitchell Robinson, who has signed with the Boston Celtics.
New York players are expected to receive their championship rings before the October 20 game at MSG, where the team's third title banner will be raised.
Prior to the opener, the same two teams will begin their preseason schedules by squaring off in Philadelphia on October 5.
