TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) has removed 1,352,401 instances of online gambling and pornography content from October 20, 2024, to March 8, 2025, based on public reports.

Of the total, 233,552 cases involved pornography, with most originating from 219,578 website cases and 10,173 cases on X. Meanwhile, 1,118,849 cases were related to online gambling, including 1,017,274 from websites and IP addresses and 46,207 from Meta (Facebook/Instagram).

“These numbers highlight websites and social media as the main challenges in curbing negative content,” said Komdigi's Director General of Digital Space Supervision, Alexander Sabar, on Monday, March 10, 2025.

Despite these efforts, the spread of negative content persists. In the first eight days of March 2025 alone, over 58,000 cases have been addressed.

To combat this, Komdigi plans to enhance AI-powered monitoring and strengthen cooperation with global digital platforms for more efficient enforcement. The public is encouraged to report harmful content, including online gambling and pornography content, via the official portal aduankonten.id.
