TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has officially detained PDI Perjuangan Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto today, February 20, on charges of obstructing justice in the investigation of fugitive Harun Masiku’s case. His detention will last 20 days, from February 20 to March 11, 2025.
“KPK named HK a suspect on December 23, 2024, under Investigation Order Number Sprin.Dik/152/DIK.00/01/12/2024,” KPK chief Setyo Budiyanto announced at a press conference at the agency’s Merah Putih Building in South Jakarta.
According to Setyo, Hasto deliberately attempted to hinder, obstruct, or derail the investigation into alleged bribery linked to the appointment of a House of Representatives member for the 2019–2024 term, with Harun Masiku as the main suspect.
Hasto allegedly conspired with Saeful Bahri to bribe 2017–2022 General Elections Commission (KPU) member Wahyu Setiawan, with Agustiani Tio also implicated in the scheme.
Hasto has been charged under Article 21 of the Corruption Eradication Law in conjunction with Article 55, Paragraph (1), Section 1 of the Criminal Code. He will remain in custody at the East Jakarta Class I Detention Facility from February 20 to March 11.
