TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Head of the Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN) Basuki Hadimuljono claimed that the investment for IKN that will come in through the 9th stage groundbreaking will reach Rp6.49 trillion. This investment comes from the education, hotel, housing, retail, and office sectors. "There is a pure private investment from non-APBN and BUMN amounting to Rp6.49 trillion," said Basuki in a working meeting with Commission II of the Indonesian House of Representatives at the Senayan Parliament Building, Wednesday, February 12, 2025.
Basuki said that the investment came from the State University of Surabaya which wants to invest Rp150 billion, PT Makmur Berkah Hotel worth Rp950 billion, PT Citadel Group Indonesia worth Rp3.97 trillion, PT Vitka Delifood worth Rp20 billion, and PT Puri Persada Lampung worth Rp1.4 trillion.
However, Basuki has not confirmed when the 9th stage groundbreaking will be carried out. However, it is likely that there will be no ceremony like the 8 stages of groundbreaking carried out in the era of President Jokowi. "Because the President wants to go there (to the IKN) to inaugurate it," said Basuki when met by the media after the meeting.
The construction of the new capital city in East Kalimantan is estimated to require a budget of Rp466 trillion. President Jokowi's government has designed a budget allocation from the APBN of only 20 percent, while the rest comes from investment.
Meanwhile, throughout 2023-2024, the IKN Authority has carried out 8 stages of groundbreaking and recorded an investment worth Rp58 trillion. This achievement is still far below the previously set target, which was to reach Rp100 trillion in 2024.
