TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister Zulkifli Hasan admitted that, approaching the two-year mark of President Prabowo Subianto's administration, several priority programs have not been successful. One example of an unsuccessful program is the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program under the National Nutrition Agency (BGN).
"Indeed, there are some that have been successful, such as rice and corn, successful, alhamdulillah, it's done in a year. Some have not been successful, namely BGN," said Zulkifli during a coordination meeting on MBG at the Coordinating Ministry for the Food office in Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
Another one of the President's priority programs that is considered unsuccessful is the Red and White Village Cooperative (KDMP) program. "There is also Kopdes (KDMP), which is also a very big homework, involving 82 thousand villages," said the minister familiarly known as Zulhas.
The government is currently organizing several cooperatives in mountainous areas. Zulhas aims to ensure that most people feel the benefits of the Red and White Village Cooperative program by October 20, 2026.
Zulhas conveyed this assessment directly to BGN Head Sudaryono during the coordination meeting. Sudaryono only nodded after hearing the statement from the Coordinating Minister for the Food.
Tempo has tried to obtain confirmation from Prasetyo Hadi, the Minister of the State Secretariat, and Muhammad Qodari, the Head of the Government Communication Agency, regarding Zulhas's assessment. As of this writing, however, neither has responded.
