TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Napoli secured three points with a narrow 1-0 victory over Bologna in Matchweek 4 of the 2026/27 Italian League season at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium on Sunday, September 13, 2026.
Stanislav Lobotka sealed the win for Napoli with a second-half goal. The result leaves Napoli with six points from four matches, placing them ninth in the provisional standings.
Meanwhile, Bologna remains stuck in 16th place with just one point, according to the official legaseriea (Serie A League) website as cited by Antara.
Napoli played aggressively from the start. However, Bologna briefly stunned the hosts by scoring in the seventh minute through Arthur Theate.
The goal was short-lived; VAR disallowed Theate's strike because the Bologna defender was in an offside position.
Napoli subsequently ramped up the pressure. Kevin De Bruyne and his teammates dominated the attack and created several chances, though their finishing lacked the clinical edge needed to breach Bologna's goal.
Bologna also managed to threaten on the counter-attack a few times. However, no goals were scored before halftime, and the teams headed to the dressing rooms deadlocked at 0-0.
Napoli regained control of the game after the break. Their sustained pressure finally paid off in the 68th minute.
Lobotka put Napoli ahead 1-0 by converting a cross from Constantinos Favasuli. The Slovakian midfielder unleashed a finish that the Bologna goalkeeper was unable to stop.
Trailing by a goal, Bologna increased the pressure in the closing stages. Substitute forward Samuel Mbangula posed a threat several times to the Napoli goal guarded by Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.
However, Napoli managed to hold onto their lead until the final whistle. The 1-0 scoreline ensured the three points stayed with the hosts.
