TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - One ship captain who went missing in the boat fire incident at the dock of Marina Beach, Ancol, North Jakarta, has yet to be found.

Chief of the Public Relations Division of the Jakarta Metro Police, Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indriadi, stated that the joint team is still searching for the whereabouts of the ship captain.

"Currently, the team is still working in the field," said Ade Ary on Monday, February 10, 2025.

Two ships caught fire at Marina Beach Dock on February 8, 2025, around 10:00 a.m. WIB (Western Indonesia Time), with one person found dead in the incident.

The victim's body has been taken by the family to Pemalang, Central Java. Ade Ary stated that the total number of ship crew members was 11 people, consisting of crew members (ABK), the ship captain, and crew from the tanker truck.

Based on the testimony of a witness, before the fire broke out, someone was seen smoking on the ship. "The ship was in the process of refueling from the tanker truck, then there was an explosion," said Ade Ary. "The witness then saw the fire was already ablaze."

As a result of the fire, five people suffered from burns, one died, and one person is still declared missing: the ship captain with the initial N. "Some are being treated at Koja Hospital and will be referred to Pertamina Hospital in Cempaka Putih. Some are being treated at Satya Negara Hospital and will be referred to RSCM," concluded Ade Ary.
