TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian National Police's Professional and Security Division (Propam Polri) is currently investigating six personnel from the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Central Java Regional Police regarding allegations of intimidation against the electro-punk duo from Purbalingga, Sukatani. This investigation follows the viral song Bayar Bayar Bayar which was subsequently withdrawn from streaming platforms after an apology from the band.

The Police, through the official X account @DivpropamPolri, announced that as of Saturday night, February 22, 2025, the number of personnel under investigation had increased to six individuals. "At present, two other personnel from Ditreskrimsus of the Central Java Regional Police have been investigated, bringing the total to six personnel being questioned," the official statement from the Police read.

The Public Relations Head of the Central Java Regional Police, Commissioner Artanto, emphasized that the investigation of the six personnel is still ongoing and has not resulted in a conclusion.

"We ensure that every report from the public, especially regarding allegations of ethical violations or abuse of authority by the police, will be professionally and transparently handled following applicable procedures," Artanto said in a statement received by Tempo on Sunday, February 23, 2025.

He also stated that claims regarding the actions of personnel in this case being justified and abide by existing procedures still require further clarification based on the ongoing investigation. "So, it is reiterated that for now, regarding the probing of the personnel of Ditreskrimsus of the Central Java Regional Police by Propam, the investigation results have not been concluded as the process is still ongoing," he said.

The authority, according to Artanto, is committed to upholding the principles of transparency and accountability in enforcing police discipline and code of ethics. Artanto mentioned that the results of the investigation of the members of the Cyber Crime Directorate will be objectively presented to the public.

"We invite the public to continue to prioritize facts based on official investigation results. All forms of input and criticism are still accepted by us as part of efforts to improve the professionalism of the police," Artanto said.

On Thursday, February 20, 2025, Sukatani uploaded a video of apology to the Chief of Police (Kapolri) and the Polri institution after their song titled Bayar Bayar Bayar went viral on various social media platforms. Not only that, they also stated that they were withdrawing the song from circulation and requested their followers to delete the song from their social media platforms.
