TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto is set to lead a sunset parade this afternoon, February 27, 2025, as part of the regional head retreat at the Military Academy in Magelang, Central Java.
"President Prabowo will lead the sunset parade ceremony at the Military Academy," said Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media at the Presidential Secretariat, Yusuf Permana, in an official statement on Thursday, February 27, 2025.
The following day, Friday, February 28, 2025, the President is scheduled to provide leadership orientation training to local government heads from across Indonesia.
Yusuf explained that Prabowo's visit to the Military Academy in Magelang was part of the government's ongoing efforts to foster stronger cooperation between the national and regional levels of government. He emphasized that this reflects Prabowo's commitment to developing strong and principled leadership among regional leaders in Indonesia.
According to the schedule obtained by Tempo, Prabowo will lead the sunset parade from 5:00 PM to 6:15 PM Western Indonesian Time (WIB). This will be followed by a farewell dinner at Rukan Husen from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM WIB. Retreat participants are required to wear reserve component uniforms for the evening meal.
The previous day, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka attended the retreat. He arrived at the academy complex at 9:30 AM WIB. Journalists were not permitted to enter the retreat area while Gibran delivered his presentation.
Gibran urged the regional heads to pay close attention to the instructions that President Prabowo would provide. He departed the academy complex at 10:45 AM WIB.
Deputy Home Affairs Minister (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto had previously stressed that the purpose of the local government head retreat is to improve their leadership abilities.
During his visit to Magelang on Saturday, February 22, 2025, Bima stated that the Ministry of Home Affairs is committed to strengthening the skills and knowledge of each regional leader.
