TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Recently, there have been many complaints about the scarcity of fuel oil (BBM) stocks at a number of private Public Gas Stations (SPBU) in Indonesia. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has also spoken out regarding this fuel shortage.
"So I will check this obstacle first, what is the obstacle. I will coordinate it first with the head of BPH Migas," said Deputy Minister of ESDM Yuliot Tanjung, quoted from Tempo.co today, Monday, February 3, 2025.
Previously, there was a fuel shortage at private gas stations such as Shell and BP. Shell Indonesia explained that it is currently experiencing obstacles in the procurement and distribution of fuel products.
"Shell Indonesia continues to coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the availability of fuel products at Shell gas stations as soon as possible," said President Director and Managing Director of Mobility Shell Indonesia Ingrid Siburian.
Meanwhile, President Director of BP-AKR Vanda Laura admitted that there were limited stocks at several BP gas station networks. This makes BP gas stations unable to serve the sale of complete fuel products.
"BP-AKR is committed to immediately restoring product availability and ensuring that the entire BP gas station network currently remains operational to provide purchasing services for available fuel products," Vanda said in an official statement.
