TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tempo Data Science released the results of a survey showing a downward trend in public satisfaction rate with the administration of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
General Manager of Tempo Data Science, Khairul Anam, stated that public satisfaction rate with the performance of the Prabowo-Gibran cabinet has declined significantly and consistently over time.
"The public satisfaction rate with the government's performance stands at 37 percent in August 2026," said Anam at the launch of the survey results in Central Jakarta, on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
Several previous surveys showed that public satisfaction rate with the government was at 75 percent in December 2025. However, this figure dropped drastically to 58 percent by March 2026.
According to Anam, public satisfaction rate has decreased relatively rapidly, by 38 percent in just eight months.
Overall, he added, the average score for the assessment of the government's performance is at 5.7 out of 10. President Prabowo Subianto received a score of 5.8, while Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka received 5.3.
Anam explained that the public's negative perception of the economic situation was the main trigger of the decline in satisfaction.
Based on survey data, 68 percent of respondents believe that the current national economic situation is poor or getting worse. "The two main issues putting pressure on people's daily lives are the high prices of necessities and the limited job opportunities," said Anam.
He detailed that 77 percent of respondents feel that the prices of necessities are now much higher, while another 16 percent state that the prices are higher. In terms of employment, 57 percent of respondents find it much more difficult to find jobs, and another 30 percent still find it difficult.
This Tempo Data Science survey was conducted from July 31 to August 11, 2026, involving 1,260 respondents proportionally spread across 38 provinces in Indonesia.
The multistage random sampling methodology was used with a 95 percent confidence level and an approximate margin of error of 2.9 percent.
