TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo confirmed that toll fee discounts will be implemented during the Eid homecoming period. However, the discount amount is still being discussed with the toll road operators.
"[The discount] will cut the business profit margin, so I have to talk [to the operators] heart to heart," Dody said at his office on Friday, February 21, 2025. "During the New Year's holiday, they provided a 10 percent discount, and hopefully, there will be a discount [during Eid]," he added.
Previously, President Prabowo Subianto hinted at a toll discount during Eid 2025. Reducing toll fees during the religious holiday is a Ramadan stimulus policy, which aims to help stimulate economic growth. In addition to toll fee discounts, Prabowo mentioned that the Ramadan stimulus includes discounts on airfares and shopping.
"There is also a Ramadan homecoming tourism program," Prabowo said at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, on Friday, February 17, 2025.
Moreover, the Ministry of Public Works will provide free access to 132.77 kilometers of toll roads during the Eid 2025 period in March-April. This includes 74.35 kilometers of newly constructed toll roads, scheduled to become operational in the first quarter of the year.
The four toll road sections that will be operational starting the first quarter of 2025 are:
- Binjai-Langsa Toll section 3 Tanjung Pura-Pangkalan Brandan (19 kilometers)
- Pekanbaru-Padang Toll section Sicincin-Padang (36.6 kilometers)
- Solo-Yogyakarta-NYIA Kulon Progo Toll package 1 2 (Klaten-Purwomartani segment Klaten-Prambanan) spanning 8.6 kilometers
- Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parpat Toll part of section 2 (Kuala Tanjung-Indrapura) (10.15 kilometers)
Meanwhile, toll roads that will be operational during Eid 2025 (totaling 58.42 kilometers) include:
- Sigli-Banda Aceh Toll section 1 (Padang Tiji-Seulimeun) (24.67 kilometers)
- Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat Toll part of section 4 (Sinaksak-Pematang Siantar) (12.37 kilometers)
- Jakarta-Cikampek II Selatan Toll package 3 (Sukabungah-Sadang segment Kutanegara-Sadang) (8.5 kilometers)
- Probolinggo-Banyuwangi Toll package 1 (Gending-Kraksakan) (12.88 kilometers)
