TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Pink Spiders continue to show their dominance in the 2024-2025 South Korean Women's Volleyball League (V-League). They won over Red Sparks again in the 25th week match which took place at Incheon Samsan World Gymnasium, Sunday, February 2, 2025.
Pink Spiders appeared more dominant than the previous meeting, when they won 3-2. This time they quickly ended the fight and won with a score of 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 25-10, 25-23).
With this result, they set a record as the first team to record 20 wins. They are increasingly established at the top of the standings with a collection of 58 points.
Red Sparks, who had carved out 13 consecutive wins, now have to accept their second consecutive defeat. They remain in third place with 17 wins, 8 losses, and 47 points.
This match was tight and entertained the 6,040 spectators who attended the stadium. In the first set, Heungkuk Life Insurance started well, exploiting the opponent's weak reception. Megawati Hangestri, the Red Sparks' top scorer, had difficulty penetrating the Pink Spiders' defensive block. Although they managed to catch up to 22-20, the Red Sparks failed to equalize and had to surrender 21-25.

The fourth set was even more intense. The Red Sparks were ahead 9-5, but the Pink Spiders slowly caught up to 18-17. At 22-22, Kim Yeon-koung became the key to victory by blocking Mega's attack, before finally ending the match with a score of 25-23.
Kim Yeon-koung became the star of the victory by scoring 23 points, while Jung Yoon-joo contributed 18 points. From the Red Sparks camp, Megawati scored 23 points and Bukilic added 18 points, but it was not enough to lead his team to victory.
The Red Sparks are aiming for their sixth straight win when they face Korea Expressway Corporation on February 6. Meanwhile, the Red Sparks will look to bounce back when they host Hillstate on February 7.
