TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) recorded 14 neighborhood units (RTs) and one road section being flooded on Sunday morning, January 25, 2026, after heavy rains hit the Jakarta area and its surroundings since Thursday, January 22, 2026.

Jakarta BPBD Head Isnawa Adji stated that the flooding was reported on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Western Indonesian Time.

"The BPBD recorded that currently 14 neighborhood units (RTs) and one road section are flooded," Isnawa said in a written statement.

The flooding mostly inundated East Jakarta. Thirteen RTs (RTs) in East Jakarta were submerged, including four in the Bidara Cina subdistrict, with water levels reaching 75-130 cm.

Furthermore, four neighborhood units (RTs) were submerged by 90 cm of water in Kampung Melayu Village, and five neighborhood units (RTs) in Cawang Village with water reaching 30 cm.

"The cause was high rainfall and the overflowing Ciliwung River," said Isnawa.

In North Jakarta, one RT in Kapuk Muara Village was submerged by 40 cm due to heavy rainfall.

Meanwhile, one road, Jalan Kembangan Raya, South Kembangan, West Jakarta, was flooded with 15 cm of water.

Isnawa stated that the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has deployed personnel to monitor flood conditions in each area and is coordinating with the Water Resources Agency, the Public Works Agency, and the Fire and Rescue Agency.

They are pumping out the floodwaters and ensuring the water channels are functioning properly, along with local village heads and sub-district heads, as well as preparing basic necessities for survivors.

"The floodwaters are targeted to recede quickly," said Isnawa.
