423 People Affected by Ciliwung River Overflow

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Bogor Regency, West Java, noted that a total of 423 people in Kampung Pensiunan, Desa Tugu Selata, Cisarua, were affected by the flood disaster due to the overflow of the Ciliwung River.

"Due to heavy rain with high intensity, the flow of the Ciliwung river overflowed into the houses of residents around the river," said Head of the Emergency and Logistics Department of the BPBD of Bogor Regency, M Adam Hamdani in Cisarua on Monday, March 3, 2025.

The river overflow that occurred on Sunday night around 20:30 WIB (Western Indonesian Time) had an impact on 119 families in three neighborhoods (RT) in Neighborhood 01 of Kampung Pensiunan, which consist of 54 families comprising 198 people in RT 01, then 27 families comprising 98 people in RT 02, and 38 families comprising 127 people in RT 03.

The BPBD of Bogor Regency stated that there were no fatalities in the incident. However, there were several minor injuries.

"The individuals with minor injuries are Ibu [Ms.] Nova, Pak [Mr.] Samsudin, Pak [Mr.] Wardi, Ibu [Ms.] Heni. The victims were taken to RSPG dr. Goenawan (hospital)," Adam explained.

Bogor Regent Rudy Susmanto visited the location of the incident in the early hours of Monday and met with several victims at the evacuation site. Rudy provided assistance and ensured the availability of a public kitchen for the residents.

"The assistance is from the Bogor Regency Government. Of course, we also prepare for basic necessities. I express my sincere thanks, not only from the Bogor Regency Government, but also from the Indonesian National Army and the National Police who prepared sahur [pre-dawn meal] for the evacuees," said Rudy.
