TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Celebrating Eid al-Fitr in Jakarta doesn't mean missing out on fun. There are numerous ways to enjoy the holiday, including visiting recreational spots with family or friends.
For those staying in Jakarta during Eid, here are five tourist attractions that remain open and welcoming to visitors:
1. Jakarta Aquarium and Safari
Jakarta Aquarium Safari offers visitors the chance to see a variety of marine animals and other wildlife. Various shows, including otter, penguin, binturong, mermaid, and penguin parades, are available for entertainment.
During the Eid holiday, a special show called "Magical Trea-Sea-Sure" will be featured.
Jakarta Aquarium Safari is located inside Mall Neo Soho LG-LGM 101, Jalan Letjen S. Parman, Tanjung Duren Selatan, Grogol Petamburan, West Jakarta. Ticket prices from March 22 to April 8, 2025, are Rp225,000 per person for premium high season and Rp160,000 per person for regular high season. It is open from 10:00 to 21:00 WIB, except for regular high season, which starts at 17:00 and ends at 21:00 WIB.
2. Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMI)
TMII offers an exploration of Indonesia's diverse culture, showcasing traditional buildings from various regions. Visitors can enjoy fountain shows, cable car rides, and other activities.
During Ramadan, TMII hosts events like breaking-the-fast picnics, "ngabuburide" (evening bike rides), and "ngabuburit" markets (evening leisure markets).
During the Eid holiday, TMII will hold a torch parade on March 30, a kecak dance performance on March 31, a Ramayana fragment on April 1, Stone Jumping on April 2, and other performances.
Entrance fee is Rp25,000 per person, with additional fees for bicycles and vehicles.
3. Ancol Beach
Ancol Beach remains open during the Eid holiday, offering beach activities. Visitors can enjoy the sea breeze, play in the water, and relax.
Located at the Ecovention Building, Jalan Lodan Timur No. 7, Ancol, Pademangan District, North Jakarta, Ancol hosts Eid prayers by the beach. It is open from 05:00 to 24:00 WIB, with an entrance fee of Rp 35,000.
4. Pondok Indah Waterpark
For water-based Eid celebrations, Pondok Indah Waterpark offers various attractions. Its features include tube slides, wave pools, and swirling water slides.
Located on Jalan Metro Pondok Indah, Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, the waterpark is open from 06:00 to 18:00 WIB, with a ticket price of Rp110,000 per person.
5. Ragunan Zoo
Ragunan Zoo or Kebun Binatang Ragunan is a place for tourists to see a variety of animals. Popular during the Eid holiday, it offers activities like visiting the Schmutzer Primate Center, the Children's Zoo, and train rides.
Located on Jalan Harsono No. 1, Ragunan, Pasar Minggu District, South Jakarta, Ragunan Zoo is open from 07:00 to 16:00 WIB. Ragunan Wildlife Park is closed during Eid al-Fitr, and reopens the following day.
