TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Apple is widely expected to unveil iOS 27 at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.
While Apple has yet to confirm details, reports suggest the next major iPhone operating system update will place a stronger emphasis on artificial intelligence, alongside refinements to core apps and support for new hardware.
Based on reporting by 9to5Mac and other Apple-focused outlets, here are seven iOS 27 features that are currently rumored.
1. Apple Health+ With AI-Powered Coaching
Apple is reportedly developing an AI-driven health service called Apple Health+, which would significantly expand the capabilities of the Health app. The service is expected to include personalized health coaching, food logging, educational videos, and tailored guidance aimed at helping users meet fitness and wellness goals.
Health+ is also rumored to integrate closely with Apple Fitness+, and could eventually merge into a single subscription offering focused on preventive and personalized health.
2. Advanced Multitasking for a Foldable iPhone
iOS 27 is said to introduce new multitasking features designed specifically for a rumored foldable iPhone, which some reports suggest could debut later in the year.
When unfolded, the device is expected to resemble an iPad mini, prompting Apple to adapt a window-based multitasking system similar to iPadOS. These features may remain exclusive to the foldable model, marking a shift in how Apple differentiates iPhone software by form factor.
3. A Refreshed Visual Design for Siri
Following a major AI upgrade in iOS 26.4, Siri is expected to receive a visual redesign in iOS 27. The update is reportedly tied to Apple’s transition toward a new large language model–based architecture, aimed at making Siri more competitive in the AI chatbot era.
Apple is said to be rolling out functional and visual changes separately, allowing time to refine the underlying technology before introducing a redesigned interface.
4. AI-Based Web Search Features
Apple is also rumored to be developing an AI-powered web search tool for iOS 27. Rather than replacing Safari’s default search engine, the feature is expected to enhance Spotlight search, allowing users to get smarter, context-aware answers using AI.
The tool would reportedly rely on the same AI infrastructure that powers the upgraded Siri experience.
5. Enhanced Collections in the Photos App
The Photos app is expected to receive another round of updates in iOS 27. Code references discovered by Macworld point to improvements in “enhanced collections,” building on the major redesign introduced in earlier iOS versions.
While the scope of the changes remains unclear, refinements to Shared Albums and photo organization tools are among the anticipated updates.
6. A New AirPods Pairing Experience
iOS 27 may introduce a revamped AirPods pairing system, according to references found in early internal builds of previous iOS versions. Although AirPods are already known for their seamless setup process, Apple is reportedly working on further simplifying and improving the pairing experience, particularly across multiple devices.
7. Long-Awaited Calendar App Revamp
Apple is also said to be preparing a redesign of the Calendar app for both iOS 27 and macOS 27. The update was reportedly planned for an earlier release but was delayed.
Details remain scarce, but the revamp is notable given that Calendar is one of Apple’s longest-standing apps and has seen relatively few major updates in recent years.
