Aaron Rodgers enjoyed a heartwarming reunion with his Lake Tahoe 'grandma' on Thursday as he arrived at the American Century Championship celebrity tournament.

Rodgers, 41, has become a fixture at the competition over the years, and along the way developed a friendship with a woman named Carol Sargent after she introduced herself to him two decades ago.

And the quarterback and his 'Tahoe grandma' were seen embracing each other during his practice round on Thursday, as Carol excitedly put her arms in the air before wrapping Rodgers in a hug.

In a video taken by the Daily Mail, Carol could be seen affectionately holding his face before the friends could be seen walking arm-in-arm together.

Carol, who was featured in Rodgers' 'Enigma' Netflix documentary, said seeing Rodgers at the tournament was her 'favorite part of the year.

'Because we've made a really nice friendship, and we appreciate each other and nice to catch up,' she told the Daily Mail. 'He's a wonderful person, so I feel very fortunate.'

Carol went on to explain that the she and Rodgers had shared a 'mutual coach', which provided a connection before their friendship bloomed.

'And then I just started following him here. And each year my hair is very distinctive, so he could pick me out, and then we just started talking, and it's just been a wonderful, wonderful friendship.

'He's thoughtful, he's caring. He is extremely intelligent,' she continued about the polarizing quarterback. 'He is a warm, wonderful person. He has his opinions and he's free to express them - which is what he should be able to do. And [he is] a great friend. A great, great friend.'

Rodgers politely declined interview requests from the Daily Mail and other outlets.

In another moment, Rodgers was also seen having a sweet interaction with some fans, who tossed him a football from a dock as he prepared to tee off.

The passer generously signed it before tossing it back to a fan to catch.

A slew of other celebrities are set to play in the tournament, including fellow NFL stars Travis Kelce, Trevor Lawrence and Rodgers' good friend Davante Adams.

Comedian Nate Bargatze, NBA legend Charles Barkley, Warriors star Stephen Curry and actor Miles Teller will also be showing their skills on the course.

Rodgers was seen on Thursday warming up between Lawrence, Teller and Patriots coach Mike Vrabel.

Rodgers finally signed with Pittsburgh last month to bring his NFL limbo to an end

However, there was no sign on Thursday of Rodgers' mystery wife following his recent marriage.

After signing with the Steelers last month to end his long free agency saga, he revealed at a Pittsburgh practice that he got married 'a couple months ago' - with little known about his partner.

He previously said on the Pat McAfee Show in December that he was in a relationship with a woman named 'Brittani', and that she did not have any social media.

Rodgers was spotted in June wearing a black wedding band, though members of his family have questioned whether his marriage is legitimate.

Public records in the Pennsylvania county where Rodgers was rumored to have moved do not show a trace of a marriage involving him, the Daily Mail previously reported.

There also was not a record of him getting married in Las Vegas this year, county officials there confirmed.

The American Century Classic will begin on Friday.
