TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - When traveling by plane, passengers not only prioritize safety, but also consider comfort in choosing an airline. Comfort during the flight is not only influenced by internal factors, but also by external factors, such as facilities during the journey. However, the quality of facilities is determined by the class of seats booked, from economy class, premium economy, business class, to first class.
Of all the airline classes, there are several best cabins recognized by AirlineRatings, the world's best product and flight safety review website. This award highlights airlines that offer comfort and services for passengers. Here are the best cabins in the world in 2025 based on seating class.
Best First Class in the World
In the first class, Singapore Airlines ranks first with the Skyroom Suite on the A380 aircraft. Each room measures between 3.23 and 4 square meters. The spotlight is on the separate fold-out bed, equipped with premium bedding, thick blankets, and soft pillows.
The second position is held by Etihad Airways. The airline's flagship suite in Abu Dhabi is on the 777, 787, and A350 aircraft. Designed luxuriously while maintaining customer privacy and comfort. Each room is equipped with a door, flat bed, privacy divider, and noise-canceling headphones.
Best Business Class
Qsuite Qatar Airways occupies the top position for the best business class cabin. The rooms are arranged in a 1-2-1 configuration, offering privacy for passengers. Travelers can convert two adjacent suites into a double bed. "The experience in Qatar Airways' business class is unparalleled," said Sharon Petersen, CEO of AirlineRatings, as quoted from the Daily Mail on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.
The second position this year is held by Cathay Pacific's Aria Suite, which is being launched across its Boeing 777 fleet. The configuration is also arranged like Qatar Airways' Qsuite, which is 1-2-1. In the room, passengers will be provided with a flat bed, thick blanket and soft pillow, larger storage space, wireless charging, and a 24-inch 4k touchscreen.
Best Premium Economy
Emirates and Qantas airlines tie for the top position, both excelling in all areas. "In selecting the winners, we began to look at relatively small details that seemed unimportant, such as special cabins, toilets, blanket quality, and cabin location," said Petersen, adding that both airlines serve business class meals with porcelain tableware and quality glassware with dedicated cabin crew.
Best Value Premium Economy
Vietnam Airlines has been the winner in this category for two consecutive years. Meals in premium economy class are the same as those served in economy class. Not only that, passengers still receive priority check-in, boarding, baggage, 2-3-2 seating, and spacious legroom on the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
In second place, there is TUI making its debut in this awards event. Customers can enjoy priority check-in and boarding. Other comforts include a 38-inch seat pitch, adjustable headrest and leg rest, noise-canceling headphones, blankets, and pillows.
Best Economy Class
The top spot in this category is taken by Korean Air thanks to its spacious and comfortable seats. In addition to wide seats, Petersen highlights other features. "Passengers are given extra comfort such as sandals and larger food portions that enhance the economy experience," said AirlineRatings' CEO.
Air New Zealand is in second place, praised for the Skycouch and upcoming Skynest bed. The Skycouch has a footrest that can rise to 90 degrees to create a bed. The Skynest, to be debuted in 2026, is equipped with six pods and beds, reading lights, USB ports, and ventilation.
