BMKG Forecasts Heavy Rainfall Across Jakarta Today

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) forecasts heavy rain accompanied by strong winds to hit several areas of Jakarta this afternoon into the evening, Friday, March 28, 2025. High-intensity rain will likely fall in the Thousand Islands, North Jakarta, West Jakarta, East Jakarta, and South Jakarta.

Referring to the 24-hour weather forecast published by BMKG at 7:00 p.m. WIB (Western Indonesian Time) yesterday, heavy rain is also expected to pour over the City and Regency of Tangerang and South Tangerang City in Banten. The situation is the same in Bogor Regency, as well as the City and Regency of Bekasi, and Bekasi City.

North Jakarta, West Jakarta, and East Jakarta are forecast to remain under thick clouds on Friday morning. These areas will likely see light rain in the afternoon and evening. The weather in Central Jakarta tends to be similar, but with partial sunshine. Meanwhile, the Thousand Islands have been showered with rain since early this morning.

Moderate rain is predicted to fall over Bekasi in West Java. The duration of rain in Bekasi Regency will be slightly longer, starting early this morning and continuing in the afternoon and evening. Its neighbor, Depok, is forecasted to be partly cloudy in the morning but also to experience light rain from the afternoon and evening.

The weather in Bogor City and Regency is relatively similar. The weather in both areas will be cloudy Friday morning, but light rain will begin to fall in the evening.

Rain is also widespread in the major cities of the Banten region. Moderate-intensity rain will pour over the City and Regency of Tangerang from early this morning until Saturday evening. Meanwhile, rain in South Tangerang City will only fall in the afternoon and evening.
